Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes
By Céleste Perrino-WalkerGraduations are sad/happy events. I'm sure they're happy for the graduates who are looking forward to all the plans they've made and worked toward for their entire lives. But they're sad events for those of us who are left behind.
I direct the handbells at a local school so I have to attend graduation whether I want to or not. (But that's OK because I want to.) I always enjoy the inspirational speeches and the celebration, but it's hard to watch people you've gotten to know just walk out of your life.
Change is a part of life. Growing up. Moving away. Making new friends. We can't avoid change. It's all around us. It's in every decision we make. Do I want to go in this direction or this direction? One will bring me closer to some people and farther away from others, the other direction has different options.
That's why it's so important to learn how to make wise choices so that the changes that come to your life will bring good things. Ask yourself this important question the next time you have to make a decision that will bring change to your life: Will this direction lead me closer to or farther away from my goals?
Then go for it. Change can be exciting!
